PRIVACY
What Gravfront keeps about you, why, and how to remove it. Last updated October 2026.
THE SHORT VERSION
Gravfront keeps a guest pilot and your alias so nobody else can use your name. Servers also record what you do in matches to train their bots. They keep those recordings for 30 days, and you can turn recording off or delete everything in Settings. Gravfront doesn't record anything outside the game, sell data or show ads.
YOUR PILOT
- What: a random pilot ID, your alias and when you last played. There's no email or real name, and a password only if you set one (stored scrambled, never as typed). If you play the Steam version, your Steam ID is kept too, so your pilot follows your Steam account. Steam confirms who you are; Gravfront never sees your Steam password.
- Where: on the account server. That's the official Gravfront server, or the server you joined if it keeps its own accounts. Your browser stores the pilot's ID and secret key so it can sign you in.
- Why: so your alias stays yours and recordings are filed under your pilot instead of a name anyone could type.
- How long: until you delete it. An alias you haven't used for 180 days can be taken by someone else.
MATCH RECORDINGS
- What: about 10 times a second during a match, your tank's position, health, energy, aim, movement, boost, shield and shots, plus where the nearest tanks were. A summary of your playstyle is kept too, such as how close you like to fight and how often you use each weapon.
- What's not recorded: anything outside the game window, anything you type, chat, your screen, your microphone and your files.
- Where: on the server you're playing on, in its
recordingsfolder. - Why: so the bots learn to play more like real people.
- How long: 30 days. After that, the server deletes the raw recordings on its own. The bots keep what they learned, but that's a blend of many players and doesn't identify anyone.
- Turning it off: Settings, then Help train the bots with my matches, then Off. Servers stop recording you straight away.
DELETING EVERYTHING
Settings, then Delete my pilot. This does three things:
- Deletes your pilot from the account server and frees your alias.
- Deletes your recordings and playstyle on that server right away.
- Clears the pilot and your play data from this browser.
If you played on servers other people host, their copies of your recordings expire after 30 days, as described above.
SERVERS OTHER PLAYERS HOST
Anyone can host a Gravfront server, and it's then run by that person, not by us. They can change how long recordings are kept. The game tells you when you join if a server records gameplay.
OTHER THINGS SERVERS SEE
Like any online game, a server sees your IP address while you're connected. It shows in the host's server window and is used to stop one address from creating too many pilots. It isn't stored with your pilot or recordings.
